Overview
Water & Air scientists teamed with Bellomo-Herbert and Company, Inc. in the creation of a Park Master Plan and Ecological Management Plan for the Egans Creek Greenway for the City of Fernandina Beach.

Details

  • Identified natural vegetation communities and land uses within the Egans Creek Greenway.
  • Identified the location, extent, and type of management required for exotic plant species that threaten the biological integrity of the greenway.
  • Completed a biological field survey that provided the basis for development of an environmental land management plan.
  • Potential restoration opportunities, scenic viewsheds, unique points of interest, and potential trail routes were identified.

Results
Water & Air professionals worked closely with Bellomo-Herbert and Company, Inc. landscape architects to identify unique features and scenic routes to be incorporated into the trail system. The on-site experience that Water & Air gained during the inventory phase enabled the project architects to develop a design that was aesthetically pleasing and ecologically sound.
