Air & Noise
The issues of outdoor and indoor air and noise quality and pollution and their effects on public health and the environment are receiving a growing amount of attention from scientists, policy makers, and public health officials. Energy conservation efforts in the 1970s resulted in building alterations and new construction designed to reduce energy loss. An unfortunate consequence of these conservation efforts has been an increase in indoor air quality problems. Adverse health effects on residents and workers have made indoor air quality a key issue for building owners and operators. Outdoor air quality and air pollution issues are at the forefront of federal and international regulatory policy involving the carbon cap and emissions trade intended to reduce greenhouse gas emissions The issue of noise pollution continues grow and hinder healthy working and living conditions.
Water & Air Research, Inc. (Water & Air) has nearly 40 years of experience solving intricate environmental problems, such as air quality and noise pollution, that may require an interdisciplinary team of engineers, physical scientists, and biological scientists. Water & Air uses a systems approach to assess air and sound quality, evaluate emission sources, model plume dispersion, and determine the nature of human and environmental impacts. With a thorough understanding of the problem, recommendations are developed to address air and noise pollution.
