Water Quality
The Water Quality Group often support client needs by first monitoring chemicals and other substances (e.g., turbidity, color, or suspended solids) as well as environmental conditions (such as measuring bathymetry, water circulation patterns and flows) and then evaluating and interpreting the gathered information in a project-specific or regulatory context. Project concerns are often directed to chemical movement pathways and fate, regulatory compliance, implications regarding toxicity, quality assurance and control, and options for material management and disposal. Water is often but not always one of the media of concern.
Because Water & Air always has been a multi-disciplinary company, the Water Quality Group often provides support to other in-house technical teams. Most members of the group enjoy seeing how their technical expertise fits into a larger picture of a complex and multi-faceted project. Understanding ultimate project goals is important if the combination of many disciplines are to be merged together to achieve those goals.
Many of the sampling and testing procedures performed by the Water Quality Group are proscribed by various governmental agencies or programs. When needed, new procedures have been developed to address issues or concerns that fall outside the normally encountered programs or typical work scopes.
